Why did we launch this project ?
During brainstorming sessions and working workshops, the founders of Qemotion assessed the current situation of emotions and simplicity in the current social communication world: this was the basis of the targets we defined for a new tool.

The first observation was that sharing emotions was not taken seriously by the current social networks, starting from Facebook, Linkedin, up to G+. The world of emotions has not been understood by the big social networks and it seems that for services like Facebook the commercial consideration have priority on a true expressions of daily mood, feeling and emotions. Even, some examples let us think, that no one of them are considering Emotions as the center of human interactions.:
- You cannot (no more) dislike, or say G-1 (vs the +1 from Google+)
- Even if you could, summarizing all emotions with “I like” (or I dislike) would be very limited.
- The large use of emoticons /emojis may be adapted for funny comments or jokes with friends, but is not serious enough to let the people share emotions like sadness, anger, or boredom. Imagine you want to comment about a new terrible earthquake or tsunami that happens during the night. When you will see real images, you may want to express your support or your anger, ie your emotions. Would you use emojis to communicate about it? No, emoticons are clearly not adapted for that.
- Even if now we learned a lot about emotions, no open study has never been published by these websites concerning the level of emotions shared depending of the country, the users, etc.

The second problem is concerning the fact that the Twitter revolution has not been understood by a lot of internet users: The gains does not always balance the pains for them.Twitter is still considered as both too complicated and too technical to be used on a daily basis.
- Between other arguments that one can hear:
- To follow people is really not intuitive at all for a newbie: who shall I follow ? why ?
- The hashtag choice also is considered by many as a technical choice: which topics shall I follow to choose ? Shall I write #Hunger_games or #hungergames?
- My friend re-tweets a (clearly not politically correct) tweet without comment: how to know if he is pro or anti ?
- To have to type is painful in a lot of situation : and anyway not adapted for any activity you have that demand attention (TV, concerts, sports)
How could we have a mobile social network, with both positioning and real time features, which is first emotion but also focus on the important topics, without being too technical?
We want to focus on emotional interactions in live events.
We want to focus on emotional interactions in live events. We want to simplify the way we express reactions and opinions around us and in the same time upgrade it. This is why we decided to launch Qemotion, an “emotion native” mobile app with new features and a strong focus on simplicity.
